EKG Technician
Tasks:
Confirm physician's order prior to performance of study.
Explain testing procedure to patient
Transmit and process ECG from cart to computer system
Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in order to operate in an efficient manner
Perform requested study in a skillful and careful manner
Maintain a good rapport with patients, staff, visitors
Requirements:
One (1) year of related experience required.
Technical aptitude required to interpret physicians' orders, utilize Electrocardiograph, maintain equipment, etc.
Work requires a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients and deal effectively with medical, nursing, technical and other staff members.
Ability to learn the performance of Electrocardiograms on neonatal patients required.
Work requires light typing ability to produce simple reports, letters, records, etc.
Work requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time (85% of work time) as well as ability to push equipment cart throughout the Hospital.
