Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team of PT/OT/Chiropractic/Acu/Pain Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for VOBs, posting, working denials, reprocessing claims, and more. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Experience with Out of network billing a plus.
DUTIES
Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate billing.
Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before submission.
Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
Perform medical collections as necessary, communicating effectively with patients regarding their accounts.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, DRG (Diagnosis Related Group), and relevant billing regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and improve overall billing processes.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and insurance regulations related to medical billing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Strong understanding of medical billing procedures, including familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10.
Knowledge of medical terminology and DRG classifications is essential.
Proficiency in managing medical records and utilizing various billing systems.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and insurance representatives.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
