Medical Office Assistant
Qualifications
Must be comfortable working independently
High School Diploma or GED required
Must be able to physically assist patients into wheel chairs and onto imaging tables
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
Demonstrated proficiency with computer technology
Ability to handle multiple tasks on a timely basis and work in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to speak effectively and present a pleasant, profession demeanor/image during telephone conversations or in person
Adherence to follow established procedures and make sound decisions based on those procedures
Hours: Monday-Thursday 11am-7:30pm and Saturday 6:30am-2:30pm

Responsibilities
Expedites patient care by scheduling patients' appointments accurately and efficiently
Greet patients and assist them with checking in for their appointment
Answers telephone calls in the scheduling queue in a timely manner
Supports Lead in achieving departmental standard for wait times, work times, and abandonment rate
Verifies insurance contract requirements when scheduling exams and reminds the patient of these requirements
Verifies all patient demographic information
Accurately schedules exams for the proper needs
Effectively explains preps (actions a patient must take for a proper exam) to the patient, using terms the patient can understand
Verifies patient understands all prep instructions
Provides back up to Scheduling clerical support responsibilities, such as clearing right fax and batching scripts into system, verifying out-going faxes are successful and calling offices when clarification is needed
Interfaces with Lead regarding any and all departmental concerns
Attends staff meetings regularly and follows all company policies and procedures
Customer Service skills are a must
It is a rotation of hours, 6:30-3, 7:30-4, 8:30-5, or 11-7:30
The candidate learns front desk, med records, and MR tech assist
They will know their schedule 2 weeks at a time
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information according to policy
