Job description
Seeking experienced medical biller for internal medicine practice.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Knowledge and experience in medical billing
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10
knowledge of medical terminology
Review and prepare claims for electronic billing submission
management of accounts receivable
Insurance & Patient Collections
Insurance verification
data entry
follow-up on unpaid claims, denial management, filing appeals and posting charges
Respond to patient calls and answer billing questions as needed
Collect outstanding patient balances and set up payment plans for patients
Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as required
Checking eligibility and benefits verification for treatments
Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frame
Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.
Skills:
3+ years Experience (Preferred)
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multitask
Prior experience of EMR (Practice Suite/Practice Fusion experience a plus)
Competency using computer systems, software, and 10 key calculators
