A Brief Overview Performs specific technical duties related to Cardiology Testing.What you will do
Identify patient using patient wrist band and written requisition.
Verbally explains procedure to patient prior to beginning the procedure.
Protect patient privacy by applying appropriate draping, closing curtains and closing room doors.
Perform electrocardiograms in accordance with departmental procedures.
Apply and/or remove Holter Monitors in accordance with departmental procedure.
Record written testing data in Departmental Books.
Assist physician with stress testing in accordance with departmental procedure.
Observe strict patient confidentiality regarding written records and test reports.
Maintain cardiology equipment in clean working order.
Verbally report equipment malfunction to Cardiology Supervisor.
File reports as necessary.
Maintain an orderly, safe and clear working environment.
Assist with training of new personnel when applicable.
Respond to beepers by calling desired extension on telephone.
Perform any related duties as assigned.
Ability to explore, recognize, identify and measure structures on an EKG
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience Qualifications
Minimum one year experience in the field of cardiology testing preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technician should have knowledge of EKG abnormalities and related pathological conditions
Strong attention to detail
Licenses and Certifications
CET - Certified EKG Technician from the National Healthcareer Association upon hire required
