JOB DESCRIPTION:
K&G Career Academy provides affordable, hands-on training that gives our community real-world career skills. We are hiring a dedicated Student Services Advisor to lead the charge on our full-cycle student career process, which is the cornerstone of our commitment to student success. This role is key to separating us from the competition. You won't just advise students; you will actively build the employment opportunities they need to thrive!
You will work closely with the CEO and management, giving you direct exposure to high-level strategy, partnership building, and department growth. This is the perfect role for someone looking to take ownership and quickly expand their professional skill set. We are committed to fostering growth from within. As K&G Career Academy expands, so will the Career Services department, providing ample room for advancement into management and leadership roles.
As the Student Services Advisor, you will act as a bridge between graduation and employment. You will work directly with our CEO and management to develop and grow a successful career services department. Your main focus will be providing one-on-one career counseling and ensuring every student receives the personal attention needed to achieve their career goals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Develop and maintain partnerships with employers through outreach by phone, job fairs, and virtual meetings
Conduct one-on-one career advising sessions with students and graduates
Assist with resume writing, job applications, and interview preparation
Provide training on job search strategies and professional development
Maintain employment records, verify placements, and complete required documentation for accreditation
Follow up with alumni and employers to ensure continued success
Collaborate with leadership to grow the Student Services department to expand clinical and employer partnerships
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Previous experience in career services, workforce development, or recruiting
Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
Comfortable conducting outreach and building employer partnerships
Tech-savvy with basic CRM and Microsoft Office proficiency
Bilingual (Spanish or Creole) a plus
WHAT WE OFFER:
