Student Services Advisor - FT/PT - Union, NJ
We are hiring a dedicated Student Services Advisor to lead the charge on our full-cycle student career process, which is the cornerstone of our commitment to student success. This role is key to separating us from the competition. You won't just advise students; you will actively build the employment opportunities they need to thrive! Your main focus will be providing one-on-one career counseling and ensuring every student receives the personal attention needed to achieve their career goals.
Responsibilities include:
Building Employer Partnerships & Business Development:
Forge New Partnerships: Aggressively develop new employer relationships through cold calling, emailing, job fairs, video calls, and other innovative outreach methods.
Onboard Partners: Schedule and conduct 15–20-minute introductory calls to discuss and finalize partnership opportunities.
Maintain Records: Keep the partnership list, student advisor forms, media kit, and online presence (Wix) up-to-date with essential notes.
Generate Revenue: Explore and build additional revenue sources utilizing our media kit and potential business opportunities.
Future Growth: Assist with future projects, including scouting and setting up new clinical site locations
Career Advising & Training:
Job Search Mastery: Conduct student training on personal and professional development, including setting up job accounts (like Indeed) and updating resumes.
Resume & Application Support: Advise clients on how to create compelling resumes and job applications, and forward finalized resumes to potential employers.
Interview Prep: Conduct mock interviews and share essential techniques.
Resource Connection: Connect clients with relevant employers, schools, and professional organizers.
Immediate Support: Set up 10–15-minute meetings with students who require additional, targeted job support.
Student & Alumni Success Tracking:
Alumni Follow-Up: Consistently follow up with past graduates to check on their employment status, recording information vital for future accreditations.
Employer Verification: Complete necessary waiver and employer verification paperwork.
Communication: Email active lists of hiring employers directly to new graduates.
Feedback & Surveys: Conduct student surveys to drive continuous improvement.
Employer Check-ins: Stay engaged with current employers by setting up once-a-month meetings to check on student progress, identify areas for improvement, and offer media services or collaborations.
Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in outreach and networking
Ability to coach students with professionalism and empathy
Comfortable with building and maintaining business partnerships
Previous experience in career services, workforce development, advising, or sales
