Job Summary
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) is the primary point of contact for patients visiting the service center for diagnostic testing. This role involves drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, and maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality throughout the process. The PSR II represents the organization’s commitment to patient care, safety, and operational excellence while supporting physicians, patients, and internal lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate specimen collection and processing duties following established safety and compliance procedures.
Verify patient identification, labeling accuracy, and documentation integrity during and after collection.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Perform daily activities under supervision to ensure timely and precise execution of assigned tasks.
Uphold strict adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA guidelines.
Provide superior customer service by communicating effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
Travel between designated collection sites as required.
Demonstrate flexibility for occasional overtime, holidays, or location coverage.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.
Customer service experience in a healthcare or retail environment preferred.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred elsewhere)

High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical or paramedic training preferred
