As a high school student, you are consistently looking for opportunities to better your future. At K & G Career Academy we offer five different courses. Becoming a medical biller, you will be collaborative with healthcare professionals at hospitals, doctors' offices, clinics, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities.


Phlebotomists are to use needles to take blood from a patient's vein in the arm.


A Home Health Aide, or Personal Care Aide, is a professional caregiver responsible for helping patients maintain their health and hygiene in their place of residence.


An EKG Technician is responsible or giving cardiovascular tests to patients. A healthcare worker is usually trained and often certified to assist nurses in providing basic patient care and services such as bathing, feeding, or measuring the vital signs of patients.

Medical Billing




A medical biller is responsible for uploading coded records of the patient's treatment. This information is sent to the patients' insurance provider. Once the insurance provider has paid its part, the remaining cost is billed to the patient.


This updated price includes any co-pays and deductions. Accuracy is critical in medical billing, just as it does in medical coding.


The medical coder and medical biller collaborate to ensure that medical procedures are correctly recorded, that information is given to the insurance provider, and that the updated invoice is issued to the patient.

Both tasks are critical to ensuring that the health care institution is properly reimbursed. The medical biller is an important link in the chain of communication between health care providers, patients, and insurance firms.


Even though the medical biller is not engaged in patient care, he or she should be familiar with the medical language to negotiate medical costs with insurance companies and patients.

Phlebotomy

Phlebotomy is when someone uses a needle to take blood from a vein, usually in your arm. Also called a blood draw or venipuncture, it’s an important tool for diagnosing many medical conditions.


Phlebotomy training will prepare students to work as healthcare technicians specializing in phlebotomy. With this training, you are provided with the knowledge and skill set to be a successful phlebotomist.

There are lessons on the anatomy of the human body and the physiology of the human body. Also, there will be courses on concepts and procedures of blood collection and diseases related to each anatomical system. You will also be taught blood sampling procedures, laboratory safety, and venipuncture techniques.


At K & G Career Academy we provide training for three weeks. Resulting in online for two weeks and one week in person for clinical training at $850. You must be at least seventeen years old and have two forms of ID. Phlebotomy can be a rewarding career as you get to work with a variety of people. You get to help patients daily.

Home Health Aide




We here at K & G Career Academy are looking to give you an opportunity and invest in you by offering the course online for two weeks with three days in person to complete your clinical summing up to 76 hours at the cost of $400.


A home health aide / HHA is trained to work in private homes and residential facilities to care for those in need of assistance.


Home Health Aides are responsible for helping the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled who need assistance to complete everyday skills. Involves you helping brush their teeth, take them to the bathroom, give them baths, making sure they take the appropriate dose of medication.


These skills would train you how to help a family member if they needed the help.

Compared to personal care aides, home health aides work for hospice agencies or certified home health that the government funds which they are required to comply with and respect the regulations, typically working under registered nurses.


Home health aides oversee checking vital signals, administering prospective medicine, addressing wounds, massages, a little bit of housekeeping, moving patients from one space to another, planning appointments, and shopping for groceries.

EKG Technician

As an EKG technician, you are creating a bond with your patient, you guide and comfort your patient. You are to keep your patient informed on the process of what you are going to do, attach the electrodes to the patient’s chest arms, and legs, post your patient correctly and connect the electrodes that are going to be in use, and then you will receive the information of whether your patient has a healthy heart and lungs and if not, you can provide a diagnosis.


This makes being an EKG technician worth it because you aren’t just gaining the title of an EKG technician, but you are helping people figure out if their heart is in the right shape and you create bonds with your patients.


Being an EKG technician holds you high on a pedestal because there is always an increase in jobs for this profession. You wouldn’t feel unstable since there are many medical services such as clinics and hospitals that are always in need of an EKG technician.

Nurse Aide




Nursing assistants, also called nurse aides, assist patients with basic daily tasks. They work in hospitals and long-term care settings like nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care.


Their responsibilities may include helping patients with their hygiene and with eating, repositioning bedridden patients, and taking a patient's vital signs. Nursing assistants work under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.

Most nursing assistants have a high school diploma or GED, and all nursing assistants must complete a state-approved training program administered by a community college, online school, or medical facility. They must pass a state exam to become certified. Typically, nursing assistants demonstrate a high level of empathy and compassion.
