Course Description and Details

K&G Career Academy will prepare you for the next step in your career. Our Phlebotomy Technician training program is designed to train our students on how to safely draw blood, label, and maintain specimens.

 

Our Phlebotomy Technician program will consist of three weeks totaling 80 hours of training required by the State of New Jersey.

 

The training is broken down into theory and clinical hours where the student will learn how to draw blood with the guidance of an approved instructor certified by the New Jersey Board of Education.

Requirements:

 

To work as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician in New Jersey, you must meet the following:

  • Successfully complete a Phlebotomy Technician training course that is approved by the Department of Education and Work Force Development in New Jersey.

  • Complete a competency evaluation that requires 40 live sticks.

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • The National Certification Exam is available.

 

Duration:

 

The duration of the training program is 3 weeks. Morning and Evening session available.

According to the state of New Jersey Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average salary for an Phlebotomy Technician can range from $31,000 - $55,000.
