Acquire proficiency in operating an ECG or EKG machine, complete with lead wires. Upon successful completion of the clinical training guided by the instructor, you become eligible to take the National Certification Exam (NHA), marking your accomplishment as a Certified Electrocardiogram Technician.

 

Requirements:

 

To work as a certified Electrocardiogram Technician (EKG) in New Jersey, you must meet the following:

  • Completed an Electrocardiogram Technician training course that was approved by the Board of Education in New Jersey.

  • Complete a competency evaluation by a New Jersey state-approved school.

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • 10 Electrocardiogram live tests
