Course Description and Details

Are you seeking a fast, practical, and rewarding career path in healthcare? The Medication Aide Course is designed to prepare students to safely administer medications in long-term care and assisted living settings while meeting New Jersey state requirements. Medication Aides play a vital role on the healthcare team by supporting nurses and ensuring residents receive medications accurately and on time.

The Medication Aide Course is a 1-week accelerated program, structured to meet the 40-hour training requirement mandated by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. This course combines theory and practical instruction to ensure students are confident, competent, and prepared for certification and employment.

This program is offered in a flexible format with online instruction and required hands-on components. It is ideal for CNAs and healthcare workers looking to advance their careers quickly while maintaining work-life balance.

Throughout the course, students will learn safe medication administration practices, dosage calculations, infection control, documentation, residents’ rights, communication with the healthcare team, and state regulations governing medication aides. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, safety, and professionalism in long-term care environments.
