Are you a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) looking to expand your career opportunities and work more independently in home care? The CNA to CHHA Bridge Program is designed specifically for CNAs seeking to become Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs) in the state of New Jersey.
This accelerated bridge program builds upon your existing CNA training and focuses on home-based patient care. Certified Home Health Aides provide essential support to individuals in their homes, assisting with personal care, activities of daily living, safety, and emotional support. CHHAs are in high demand across New Jersey, offering flexible schedules and strong employment prospects.
The CNA to CHHA Bridge Program meets New Jersey Board of Nursing requirements and allows eligible CNAs to complete CHHA training in a significantly shorter timeframe than traditional programs. The course combines online instruction with required hands-on skills training to ensure students are confident and job-ready.
Throughout the program, students will enhance their skills in infection control, patient safety, personal care, communication, documentation, and home health responsibilities unique to in-home care settings.
Requirements:
To enroll in the CNA to CHHA Bridge Program in New Jersey, students must meet the following:

Hold an active New Jersey CNA certification

Complete a New Jersey-approved CNA to CHHA Bridge Program (60 hours)

Successfully demonstrate required clinical and practical skills

Be at least 18 years of age
