Course Description and Details
Are you seeking a fast, practical, and rewarding career path in healthcare? The Medication Aide Course is designed to prepare students to safely administer medications in long-term care and assisted living settings while meeting New Jersey state requirements. Medication Aides play a vital role on the healthcare team by supporting nurses and ensuring residents receive medications accurately and on time. The Medication Aide Course is an accelerated program structured to meet and exceed the state training requirements mandated by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
This course combines comprehensive theory and practical instruction to ensure students are confident, competent, and fully prepared for certification and employment. To support your busy schedule, this program is offered in a highly flexible hybrid format. The 48.5-hour curriculum seamlessly blends independent online lessons, interactive virtual sessions, and required hands-on, in-classroom instruction. It is ideal for CNAs and healthcare workers looking to advance their careers quickly while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Throughout the course, students will learn safe medication administration practices, dosage calculations, infection control, documentation, residents’ rights, communication with the healthcare team, and state regulations governing medication aides.
