This 90-hour Medication Aide Training Program prepares certified nurse aides (CNAs), home health aides (HHAs), or other qualifying direct care staff to safely and effectively administer medications in licensed healthcare settings under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The curriculum covers core concepts including legal and ethical responsibilities, medication classifications, safe administration techniques, documentation practices, infection control, and emergency procedures related to medication administration. Through classroom instruction, hands-on demonstration, and supervised skill validation, students gain foundational knowledge in pharmacology, dosage calculation, side effects, and proper medication storage. The course is aligned with New Jersey Board of Nursing guidelines and is designed to meet state certification requirements.
